The Intersection published a Q & A in September on Dr. Stephen Thomas's work in Prince George's County, and the lack of Covid-19 funding. In that interview, Dr. Thomas spoke candidly about how the Biden administration needed to pass a Covid-19 funding bill. At least on my end, something unexpected happened. A month and two days after our article was published, in October, Dr. Thomas received a $1 million dollar contract from the Centers For Disease Control. Also, recently, part of Biden's administration's Covid-19 winter program is to collaborate with local communities to do pop-up programs. It's not clear if this will happen in all states. I am proud of The Intersection's reporting. Read the interview here.
Dr. Stephen Thomas didn’t only talk about the new boosters. He talked about how the lack of federal funding has negatively impacted his work to get Prince George’s County residents in working-class communities vaccinated, and educated about the virus.
