Now Back To The News/The County Budget/ Community Meetings
I do feel better, but I still can't go outside.
Thanks to you all for your thoughts, prayers, and emails. I am doing better. However, I am still testing positive, so I am still at home. My wife and one of my sons have tested negative. He is now back in school. I have completed my five-day regiment of paxlovid, which has an awful after-taste. Hopefully, my next test will be negative. Now, on to the news.
Prince George’s County 2024 Budget
County Executive Angela Alsobrook presented her proposed 2024 budget at the University of Maryland’s campus on March 15.
“All of this work is part of a people-centered ongoing investment that we are making in the fiscal future of our residents and our county,” said Alsobrooks at the University of Maryland. “These projects, and I have to tell you there are many others, will help our community build generational wealth. It will also help Prince Georgians’ now — and pay dividends for decades to come.”
The exact proposed budget is $5,395,760,200 — which is an increase from the 2023 budget of $5,084,851,800.
Here is a breakdown of the proposed 2024 budget. This also entails previously passed budgets. The budget shows potential funding allocated to specific government institutions.
