A heartfelt thank you to Maryland voters for putting their faith in me. An Attorney General can either be a champion for progress or a defender of the status quo. I’m running for Attorney General to dismantle barriers because the status quo isn’t working for Marylanders.

Maryland State Del. Brooke Lierman, who was endorsed by Angela Alsobrooks, is the Democratic nominee for comptroller. She won the primary election with 219,337 votes. Lierman will face Republican Barry Glassman, Hartford County executive, in November. Mayor of Bowie Timothy Adams, who also campaigned for the position, finished with 123,756 votes.
Lierman responded to her with a series of tweets about the win:
Tonight we are one big step closer to building a better Maryland, together. Eighteen months ago I had a vision of running a truly grassroots campaign that would meet people where they are - from Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore and everywhere in between.
Together, we built that campaign. I am so grateful to the thousands of Marylanders who gave their time and energy to this effort.
Mayor Adams is an important Maryland leader and I’m grateful to know him better. Our state is stronger because of the business he built and the city he leads.
I am looking forward to continuing to meet with Marylanders in ever every corner of the state. Together, we can reimagine what the Comptroller’s office can do to support families, strengthen public schools, empower small businesses, and build a better Maryland for all.
