Intersection Update, The latest County News, and It's Inauguration Season - Issue #56
The Business
I am excited about what is happening at The Intersection Mag. As you know, we have made some changes to our website. In doing so - we have increased our traffic and lowered our bounce rate. About six months ago, visitors would come to our website and quickly exit. This made our bounce rate really high. After changing the website - putting the news on the front page - and posting more frequently, readers have stayed a bit longer. Still not where I want it to be, but we are headed in the right direction. Furthermore, I decided to jump on Nextdoor to engage community members in certain areas of Prince George's County.
I post articles on their and people read them. One person actually shared one of my articles with others. Community members thanked the poster for sharing the article because it helped to inform them. Screenshot below.
Additionally, I was invited to a small event where someone is handing out gifts to foster kids in the county.
Thank you for your support.

The survey must be completed before January 31, 2023. Prince George's County is pegged as a very wealthy county. However, what goes underreported is the amount of poverty in this county. According to the latest data (2016 -2020), 8.6 percent of residents live below the poverty line. Most of these residents are women, followed by men. Poverty is highest among those 18 - 24 years old.
